Pastry with Potato&Meat Recipe(Patatesli kiymali borek)

It is very different type of borek. All my family enjoyed alot. We call pastry type of foods borek in Turkey, it is most of time appetizers, but you can serve this as main dish.



200 gr ground meat
6-7 potatoes
2 onions
2 eggs
2 tb sp yogurt
1/2 lemon juice
1 tb sp olive oil
1 tb spoon butter
1 pocket baking powder
150 gr flour
black pepper

Boil potatoes, drain and mash. Add olive oil, butter, yogurt, baking powder, lemon juice and mix well; add flour, mix more and add 1 egg. You will have the dough not soft and not crisp.
Let it cool.

Cook chopped onions with some oil, add meat, salt and black pepper, cook for 15 minutes add parsley, cook few min more.
Oil a medium size oven proof dish and lie half of potato dough. Add the meat mixture and veil the other half of potato dough on it.
Put the egg yolk on it. Cook preheated oven 200 degree for 15-20 minutes.

Serve warm.

Mmmm. I've done tepsi böreği with meat and potato but this recipe looks more comforting - a great winter dish. Might try this soon. Ellerine sağlık, Yeşim. :)

could you use ground chicken for this? My husband can't eat red meat.

I think potato d be great with chicken also.. I didnt try with chicken but i pressume it d be delicious:)
